Gold rate in India remained high on Monday, September 7, 2026, even though both precious metals dropped by a little more than 1% in the previous week. Gold prices are closely monitored by investors and consumers as the precious metal is in demand and the world economy is uncertain.

According to Bullion.co.in data around 6:25 am on 9 September, the pan-India price of 24K gold was Rs 1,53,340 per 10 grams and 22K gold was Rs 1,40,562 per 10 grams.
Gold prices are still much higher than a year ago. The 24K gold price has risen almost 42% over the past year, showing the strong performance of the yellow metal as an investment asset.

The latest data shows 24K gold in the Indian market is still selling for above Rs 1.5 lakh per 10 grams.
On Monday morning, the national indicative rates were:
- 24K gold: Rs 1,53,340 per 10 grams.
- 22K gold: Rs 1,40,562 per 10 grams
Gold prices are generally quite variable between cities; however, because of the local taxes, transportation costs, demand, and market conditions.
Among the big cities, Chennai recorded the highest 24K gold price, while Delhi had the lowest rate on September 7.

Silver also continued to trade at elevated levels on September 7. Based on the latest available data, 999-fine silver was priced at Rs 2,37,170 per kg on the national level.
Silver 925, commonly referred to as sterling silver, was priced at Rs 2,19,382 per kg.
Silver has also enjoyed strong gains in the past year. 999 fine silver was still more than 90% higher year-on-year, even though it had fallen a little in the past week.
