LEAP India IPO Listing: Shares Fall Below ₹159 After 4.3% Debut

LEAP India Ltd was listed on the stock market on August 14, 2026 and the initial listing gains quickly disappeared as selling pressure came.

LEAP India IPO listing

The stock began trading at ₹165.90 on the NSE, which is 4.34% higher than the IPO price of ₹159. On BSE it debuted at ₹166, which is 4.4% higher than the IPO price.

Gains Fade after strong Opening.

Despite the good deal, LEAP India shares were under pressure as soon as they went public. The stock fell almost 8.2% from the NSE opening price and was down by 1.2% at ₹150.30 in morning trading.

As the stock slipped further, shares were trading around ₹145–₹146 on the market, below the ₹159 IPO issue price. One report put the drop at 12.14% from the opening price, to ₹145.85.

This means that investors who bought at the IPO price and held through the post-listing decline saw their initial listing gain disappear.

Listing Misses Grey Market Expectations

The debut was also weaker than what the unofficial grey market had indicated before listing.

LEAP India’s IPO was estimated to be at a grey market premium of around ₹13—a listing price of around ₹172, 8% higher than the ₹159 issue price. The actual NSE listing at ₹165.90 fell short of those expectations.

The episode demonstrates that GMP should not be viewed as a guaranteed indicator of listing performance.

About LEAP India

LEAP India is a Mumbai-based supply-chain management and asset pooling company. It is in asset pooling and supply-chain solutions for businesses.

According to the company’s DRHP, the IPO had a fresh issue of up to ₹400 crore and an Offer for Sale of up to ₹2,000 crore, taking the potential issue size to ₹2,400 crore.

The IPO attracted strong investor interest prior to being listed but the post-listing price action suggests that investors are now paying more attention to the company's valuation, financial performance and future growth prospects than ever before.

LEAP India share price: Key numbers. Particular price. IPO Issue Price ₹159. NSE Listing Price ₹165.90. BSE Listing Price ₹166. NSE Listing Premium 4.34%. BSE Listing Premium 4.40%. Later Intraday Level ~₹145–₹146. What Investors Should Watch

The question now is whether the weakness in the company post-listing is the result of short-term profit booking or a re-evaluation of the valuation.

Investors in these companies should track revenue growth, profitability, debt levels, cash flows, utilisation of IPO proceeds and future earnings growth instead of just the first day’s price movement.

LEAP India generated a modest 4.3% listing gain, but the rally soon reversed and the stock dropped below its IPO price of ₹159.
