Micron Q3 2026 Earnings Soar 346% — Biggest Semiconductor Beat in History

Micron Technology has delivered one of the most shocking earnings surprises in semiconductor history, with fiscal Q3 2026 revenue surging 346% to $41.46 billion, beating the $9.3 billion it reported in the same quarter last year, sending shock waves through the markets and driving its stock up 15% in late afternoon trading.

Net income soared to $28.24 billion on a GAAP basis and adjusted earnings per share was a robust $25.11, beating analyst expectations of $20.78. Gross margins increased dramatically to 84.9%, showing Micron’s pricing power in memory. Operating cash flow also came in at $25.39 billion, more than double from a year ago and a sign of the company’s robust financial health.

Micron’s remarkable performance was driven by the exploding demand for memory chips for artificial intelligence applications, such as servers, data centers, and next-generation devices. Memory prices have skyrocketed due to chronic supply shortages, and Micron has signed 16 long-term deals worth $22 billion with the largest data center operators and automakers.

The company’s outlook is equally impressive. Micron forecasts revenue of almost $50 billion in Q4 2026, up from $11.3 billion in Q4 last year, and earnings per share of about $31. Meanwhile, CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said memory shortages will continue until at least 2028, and that Micron is the best technology infrastructure player in the world.

But analysts have raised some concerns. Capital expenditures rose to $7.1 billion in the past quarter (which is almost double the previous year) and there is concern all around about a future oversupply crisis. Micron’s market capitalization is now over $1 trillion, and some analysts warn that the stock may be “priced for perfection.” Recent executive share sales by Mehrotra and other executives have also been a source of concern, but bullish investors say structural demand continues to be strong.

Micron’s Q3 2026 earnings are a crowning achievement in semiconductor industry history and a record of revenue growth and profitability. Driven by AI demand and strategic customer partnerships, the company has established itself as a global leader. While there are still risks regarding valuation and investment, Micron’s trajectory shows that it will continue to dominate in the years to come.
