Swiggy has announced a major leadership change at its quick commerce business, Instamart, with CEO Amitesh Kumar Jha stepping down from his role with immediate effect. The company confirmed that Nandita Sinha, the former CEO of Myntra, will succeed him as the new Chief Executive Officer of Instamart, effective August 3, 2026.

According to the company's regulatory filing, Amitesh Kumar Jha has resigned to pursue other professional opportunities. Swiggy thanked him for his contributions during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavors. The resignation marks another significant leadership transition as competition in India's quick commerce market continues to intensify.
Nandita Sinha brings extensive experience in e-commerce and digital retail. During her time at Myntra, she played a key role in strengthening the fashion platform's business, improving profitability, and expanding its customer base. Her appointment is expected to bolster Instamart's leadership as Swiggy seeks to accelerate growth in the rapidly evolving quick commerce segment.
Sinha will officially assume charge on August 3 and will also be designated as a Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of Swiggy from the same date, as disclosed in the company's exchange filing.
Amitesh Kumar Jha joined Swiggy Instamart in 2024 after a long stint at Flipkart, where he held several senior leadership positions across categories, supply chain, and growth initiatives. At Instamart, he led the business through an intensely competitive period as rivals including Blinkit, Zepto, Amazon Now, Flipkart Minutes, and BigBasket expanded aggressively across India.
The leadership transition comes at a crucial time for Swiggy's quick commerce business. The sector has witnessed explosive growth over the past two years, with companies investing heavily in dark stores, faster deliveries, wider product assortments, and customer acquisition. As competition intensifies, leadership execution and operational efficiency have become critical differentiators.
Industry analysts believe Nandita Sinha's expertise in scaling consumer businesses and driving operational excellence could help Instamart strengthen its market position. Her experience in managing large-scale e-commerce operations is expected to complement Swiggy's broader strategy of expanding its quick commerce footprint while improving profitability.
Swiggy has not announced who will replace Amitesh Kumar Jha in any other capacity, nor has the outgoing executive disclosed his next professional move. Investors and industry observers will closely watch how the leadership transition influences Instamart's growth strategy in the coming months.
With Nandita Sinha at the helm, Swiggy is aiming to reinforce its position in India's fiercely competitive quick commerce landscape, where speed, technology, and operational excellence remain the key drivers of success.
