Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal Predicts AI Agents Will Eliminate Middlemen in Companies

Ola Electric's founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, confidently predicted the future of corporate structures: AI agents will eventually eliminate middle management. Aggarwal said companies would have to become more and more dependent on AI to streamline operations, in which case only problem‑solvers and builders will be considered as the most valuable employees. His comments on June 26, 2026 reflect his belief that AI will change the way organizations operate.

Aggarwal said AI agents will “take away all middlemen in a company who are only managing people and not solving problems.” He said those who are directly involved in developing products and solving problems will have a greater role in the process and those who work in supervision may not be important. This view is informed by his own work with AI agents at Ola Electric, which he refers to as “vibe coding” and that AI can be creative in everyday workflows.

There are clear implications of this prediction. If AI agents can do routine coordination, reporting, and decision‑making, companies might have a flatter hierarchy with fewer layers of management. This would help founders and leaders work more closely with product builders, engineers, and creative teams, which would make them more efficient and more innovative.

Aggarwal’s vision resonates with global tech leaders such as Jack Dorsey and Hayden Brown who have argued that AI enables smaller teams to have more impact. And NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has suggested that IT departments could develop into HR for AI agents, looking after digital workers instead of humans. However, not all industry voices agree. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has countered that AI will not necessarily eliminate jobs but rather free people to focus on higher‑value tasks.

Aggarwal has already begun to integrate AI into operations at Ola Electric. The company is developing AI agents to automate workflows and cement the company’s tech ecosystem. This is happening alongside other milestones, such as Ola Cell Technologies getting BIS certification for its indigenously developed 46100 LFP battery cells, a step toward localizing EV supply chains.

The public reaction has been mixed, however. Aggarwal’s prediction got attention but many netizens were not happy with Ola’s issues with service and asked if AI agents would be able to solve the real-world problems like delayed scooter repairs. Some argued that AI should first be applied to customer service before changing corporate hierarchies.

Bhavish Aggarwal’s prediction that AI agents will eliminate middlemen from companies is both promising and uncertain for artificial intelligence in the workplace. He sees builders as having better efficiency and more ownership but also is not convinced about the practical impact. The debate highlights AI’s potential to transform everything and reminds us that there are still many things that need to be done to help us.
