Infosys Reaffirms Plan to Hire 20,000 Freshers in FY27 After Salary Hikes

Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, has reaffirmed its commitment to hire 20,000 freshers during FY27, showing confidence in its long-term business growth in the face of a rapidly changing technology environment. The move comes just days after it raised salaries for all staff and employees as part of its philosophy of retaining and growing the workforce.

The hiring plan will help build Infosys’ talent pipeline as the firm is investing in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, automation, data analytics, and security and data analytics. Infosys will recruit thousands of engineering graduates and young professionals to build the skilled workforce which it believes can be the core of the future client’s needs.

For IT giants, the fresher hire is still integral to their long-term growth plans. As the tech sector fluctuates, worldwide demand has fluctuated in the past few years. Infosys believes investing in young talent early in life and early-career talent will help the company to stay competitive in today's age of digital technologies.

The decision comes after employee salaries were raised, and so is employee pay. Salary increases are the result of Infosys’ efforts to improve employee satisfaction, train up skilled professionals, and to stay competitive in India's tech sector, where digital workers need to work with experienced employees.

New graduates in Infosys will receive structured training programs that target developing skills in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud platforms, software development, cybersecurity, and enterprise digital solutions. The company has always promoted continuous learning and upskilling as core to its work as it has always had a strong focus on staff development and upskilling as a top priority in its workforce strategy.

Industry experts think Infosys’ hiring plans are a positive signal to engineering graduates and India’s IT employment market in general. Large-scale campus recruitment by leading technology companies often reflects confidence in future business opportunities and helps create employment for thousands of young professionals entering the workforce every year.

Hiring is in line with the fact that India is now a technology hub worldwide. With more and more businesses going into digital transformation, software engineers, developers, consultants, and AI experts are also in demand. Infosys is most likely to be able to meet that demand with continuous recruitment and skill development.

In spite of the global IT services industry being plagued by macroeconomic uncertainty (e.g., less financial certainty and slow client spending in some of the world’s markets), Infosys is optimistic about investing in technology in the future; it is still optimistic about the long-term growth opportunities in the IT services industry. In other words, companies in all industries are accelerating the pace of cloud migration, AI adoption, automation, and cybersecurity projects, and this is driving new growth in IT service providers.

Infosys has always been investing in employee development through digital learning platforms, certification programs, and special training programs. The company believes that cultivating young talent from the beginning of their careers helps to build a strong leadership pipeline for the future.

In the scenario that Infosys has announced 20,000 freshers for the coming year, it is welcome news for engineering graduates graduating in FY27, and tech jobs are closely monitored as job growth in the tech sector will not be easy.

As staff are now paid more, ongoing investment in development and hiring is funded, Infosys is forging a future-ready workforce for the next phase of digital transformation that will take place across the world.
