Infosys to Roll Out Salary Hikes from October, Plans to Hire 20,000 Freshers This Financial Year

Infosys, India’s second largest IT services company, has made a series of new salary hikes for its employees starting October and reiterated its commitment to hiring 20,000 fresh graduates for the current financial year. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to hire 20,000 new graduates for growth of the company in the current financial year.

The salary change is welcomed by the thousands of Infosys employees who have been waiting for annual increases in the difficult business environment. Like many other IT companies, Infosys had been cautious in raising wages in recent years due to economic uncertainty around the world, slower client spending and increasing inflation. Now that business is up but not all the way there, they have decided to make the adjustments and that is why they are now making those changes.

Infosys management said the salary hikes will take place in October and will support the company’s commitment to reward employees for their performance while maintaining financial discipline. Although the company has not disclosed the exact percentage of the hikes, it’s a good news story for employee morale and retention in a very competitive technology job market.

And, beyond salary hikes, Infosys said it would recruit 20,000 freshers during the current financial year. The hiring drive is a clear indication that the firm is investing in the future with a future-ready team of staff to meet the needs of clients of all sizes.

The newly hired graduates will undergo extensive training prior to being deployed in projects with cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, automation, and digital transformation. Infosys constantly invests in upskilling and reskilling programs to help keep staff with the latest technical skills.

The hiring plans also come as a welcome signal for engineering and technology graduates in India, who have experienced diminished recruitment in the past two years due to less campus hiring by the top IT companies. Infosys’ decision to keep on hiring new talent shows it is confident in the long-term prospects for the sector.

In the Indian IT industry, there are signs of recovery as companies worldwide are investing in AI-driven digital transformation and the global IT sector has been seeing a revival. Cloud migration, automation solutions, cybersecurity services, and AI implementation are more prevalent in recent quarters and technology companies are expanding their workforce while keeping operational costs in check.

Infosys’ decision to do so might encourage other IT companies to keep hiring and salaries up. It is a positive development for the technology sector in India which is still one of the country’s largest employment contributors and the key source of export revenues.

As businesses continue to embrace AI-powered innovation and digital modernization, Infosys is positioning itself for growth in the future by bringing in experienced professionals and young graduates. With salary hikes set to begin in October and more than 20,000 freshers expected to join the company this year, the company is sending a strong signal of optimism about its future growth and reaffirming its commitment to employees, talent development and technological leadership.
