India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in June 2026 show fiscal momentum in all states, with Maharashtra once more as the top contributing state in growth. Regional and national figures show the value of compliance and digital governance in revenue growth and the growth in India.

The GST collections were highest in Maharashtra with ₹16,430 crore, confirming Maharashtra’s status as the economic engine of the country. The state’s strong industrial base, financial services, and solid real estate industry continue to drive tax collections. Gujarat followed with ₹7,800 crore, thanks to a manufacturing and export-oriented economy.

Northern states also showed resilience. Uttar Pradesh was the second largest with ₹7,572 crore (Karnataka ₹7,542). With the consumption and IT-based services, Tamil Nadu generated ₹6,952 crore, which shows that it is more diversified in industrial and services. Haryana, Telangana, and West Bengal generated ₹4,175 crore, ₹3,994 crore, and ₹3,869 crore respectively, showing balanced growth in all areas.

Rajasthan (₹3,760 crore), Andhra Pradesh (₹3,144 crore), and Kerala (₹3,090 crore) were also significant contributors. Delhi, India’s capital, received a total of ₹2,863 crore, and Madhya Pradesh and Bihar had ₹2,774 crore and ₹2,666 crore, respectively. Punjab added ₹2,446 crore, and Odisha contributed ₹1,818 crore as they have come in from eastern India.

Smaller states and union territories also had a role. Assam received ₹1,437 crore, Chhattisgarh ₹998 crore, Uttarakhand ₹939 crore, and Jharkhand ₹757 crore. Jammu & Kashmir received ₹667 crore, Himachal Pradesh ₹531 crore, and Goa ₹408 crore. Chandigarh and “Other Territory” received ₹205 crore and ₹203 crore respectively.

Among northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh received ₹152 crore, Meghalaya ₹147 crore, Puducherry ₹140 crore, Tripura ₹127 crore, and Nagaland ₹110 crore. Sikkim and Manipur received ₹89 crore and Mizoram ₹74 crore respectively. Andaman & Nicobar Islands received ₹56 crore, Ladakh ₹51 crore, and Lakshadweep ₹8 crore, and it shows the wide geographical spread of GST inflows.

Finally, India’s state-level GST collections in June 2026 show Maharashtra’s dominance, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu’s productivity and steady contributions, and the contribution of smaller states and union territories.
