Silver Prices Fall to ₹250 per Gram in India, ₹30,000 Drop in June

Silver prices were also down drastically in India on June 10, 2026, in one of the sharpest upsets of the month. The price of silver fell to ₹250 per gram and ₹2,50,000 per kilogram, down from ₹260 per gram and ₹2,60,000 per kilogram a day earlier. Since June 1, when it was trading at ₹280 per gram and ₹2,80,000 per kilogram, the metal had lost nearly ₹30,000 per kilogram in just 10 days.

The decline is evidence of the mounting pressures on markets from global economic conditions— and especially from the U.S. dollar and rising treasury yields. Investors have turned to safer, higher-yielding assets and that is reducing demand for precious metals like silver. The same trend is seen with gold markets, which also dropped sharply early in June.

Silver is in fact both a precious metal and an industrial commodity. It is also an industry that is heavily dependent on electronics, solar panels, and electric vehicles. Industrial demand is down in fact and global macroeconomic uncertainty has also contributed to the recent decline. Traders in India think the sentiment is very wary and the majority of them are waiting for the U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve policy before they make an investment now.

The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation data will also be critical: if inflation is above three-year highs, the Federal Reserve will likely raise rates again and push silver down further. Such events would make silver very hard to recover in the short term.

India’s correction is a risk and opportunity for Indian investors. The sharp fall is a risk for their stock and there is also a lot of volatility but also a chance to buy silver now that the metal is a hedge against inflation and geopolitical uncertainty (“they’re in a great position to hedge against that”). Jewelers and industrial producers will also get cheaper costs if the price can hold steady.

And at the end of the day, silver has fallen ₹30,000 a kilogram since June 1, and that is one reminder of the impact of international economic factors on commodity markets. But whether or not that trend continues will likely depend on U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve policy decisions. At this point, silver is in a bear market and we should expect there to be more volatility in the weeks to come.
