ITC Hotels is dramatically expanding its presence around India, betting on rising domestic travel, pilgrimage tourism, business travel and demand from emerging Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

During FY26, the hotel company signed its biggest annual signings, adding 33 hotels with more than 3,300 rooms. Its managed-hotel pipeline has now grown to 67 properties with about 6,700 rooms.
Some of the upcoming projects are hotels in Puri, Tirupati, Ayodhya, Rajgir, Salasar, Karai/Gandhinagar and Shirdi and new developments in Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Delhi’s Yashobhoomi complex.
Key Upcoming ITC Hotels Projects
Location Rooms

Tirupati 201
Ayodhya 143
Rajgir 107
Salasar 145
Karai/Gandhinagar 101
Shirdi 73
Visakhapatnam New hotel
Bhubaneswar New Welcomhotel + banqueting block
Yashobhoomi, Delhi New hotel
The company’s expansion is also significant in the way it is focused on spiritual and pilgrimage destinations. Places such as Ayodhya, Tirupati, Puri, Rajgir and Shirdi would benefit from the growing domestic religious tourism market of India.
ITC Hotels is also targeting high-growth business destinations. For instance, a proposed Visakhapatnam hotel is designed to cater to IT and data centres, industrial activity and port-led business travel. The Yashobhoomi project in Delhi is expected to benefit from the increasing importance of the area for conventions, exhibitions and events.
Target: 250 Hotels by 2031
ITC Hotels has set a goal of 250 operational hotels with more than 22,000 rooms by 2031. The company is adopting an asset-right model of combining owned properties with a growing managed hotel arm.
The managed pipeline of around 6,700 rooms in 67 hotels provides a great runway for future expansion without requiring the company to own every property.
Strong FY26 Performance
The expansion follows a strong FY26 for ITC Hotels. Consolidated revenues from operations rose 16% year-on-year to ₹4,139 crore and profit after tax before exceptional items rose 39% to ₹888 crore. Comparable EBITDA rose 21% in the same year.
The company also reported a 10% increase in room revenue, with average daily rates up 6% and occupancy up 229 basis points. In general, RevPAR grew 10% in revenue and still well ahead of the industry.
India’s Travel Boom creates opportunity.
Greater changes are coming in India's hospitality market and ITC Hotels is part of that. Travel is now spread beyond the country’s traditional top hotel markets; business, leisure and pilgrimage destinations are generating new demand.
For ITC Hotels, expansion into these markets could allow it to diversify its revenue base and expand its presence in India’s rapidly growing hospitality industry; thus, ITC Hotels would benefit from the expansion of its presence in these markets to create a more diverse revenue base.
With 33 hotels signed in FY26, 67 properties in the managed pipeline and a long-term target of 250 hotels, ITC Hotels is positioning itself for a major expansion cycle through 2031.
