India's biggest airline IndiGo, operated by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., suffered a net loss of ₹238 crore in the first quarter of FY27 (April-June 2026), even though revenue increased by double digits.

The quarterly results illustrate the pressure on profitability despite the increase in operating costs and lower margins as demand for passengers remains strong.

Outlook
Despite the quarterly loss, IndiGo still holds on to the top spot for India's largest airline by market share. The 20% increase in revenue is evidence of good demand for air travel, but diminished margins and high operating costs are hurting profit margins.
Meanwhile, investors will be watching fuel prices, aircraft delivery schedules, passenger traffic growth, international expansion, and cost management closely to see if the airline can return to profitability in the coming quarters.
