Exide Industries Share Price Rallies 5% as Q1 Profit Jumps 27%

Exide Industries shares were up almost 5 percent after the battery maker had a strong first quarter of FY27 financial results with revenue growth and profitability in line. It was also a strong performance; shares led the way in the stock market, rising 3.6 percent yesterday.

The company reported a 27.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, which rose to ₹407 crore in the April-June quarter, compared with ₹320 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue from operations also grew 17.6% year-on-year to ₹5,305 crore from ₹4,510 crore a year ago, on the back of strong demand across all business segments.

In which case the better quarter sales and earnings also drove investors to buy Exide Industries’ stock and drove Exide Industries’ stock up more than 5 percent in early trading. Investors liked the company’s consistent earnings growth and the ability to expand revenue in a competitive market environment.

Exide Industries, one of India’s leading battery manufacturers, is also making money in the automotive replacement market, industrial battery segment, and energy storage market. Next-generation battery technologies and lithium-ion battery manufacturing programs are also being pursued by the company to build a seat in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.
