Several bank branches in parts of India will remain closed between July 17 and July 19 because of regional festivals and weekly Sunday holiday. Since these are state holidays, banking operations will continue as usual in most other parts of the country.

According to the holiday schedule, Shillong bank branches will be closed on July 17 because of a regional festival. On July 18, banks in Gangtok will have local holidays and on July 19 (Sunday) there will be a national holiday for the banks of the country.
In order to visit a bank branch, customers should look for the holiday schedule of the branch in their city before going on a trip. For services that need the physical branch visit, they will not be available on the holiday, such as the services to meet customers in locations on the holiday.
If you need to complete important banking tasks such as KYC updates, passbook printing, cheque deposits and clearance, account opening, locker access, cash-related services, loan documentation, or document submission, it is advisable to plan your visit either before or after the holiday period.
Despite the branch closures, customers can use most of their banking services digitally. Basic banking services, like UPI, ATMs, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS, will be in service and in full operating mode throughout the holiday. They will allow customers to transfer money, make bill payments, pay merchants, recharge mobile phones, and carry out most banking transactions without the need of going to the branch for most of the day-to-day banking activities.
The ATMs will remain functional for cash withdrawals and deposits where the facility is available, and internet and mobile banking platforms will continue to have 24x7 account management and digital transactions.
Customers should also be aware that cheque processing and other branch-dependent services may be delayed if documents are submitted immediately before the holidays. Commercial banks and individuals with time-sensitive banking needs should do their work ahead.
In order to avoid inconvenience, customers should verify their local bank holiday schedule through their bank's official website, mobile application, or customer care service before visiting a branch.
Because one of the benefits of India’s digital banking ecosystem is that most financial transactions can continue without interruption even in a period when the branch offices are closed, customers can handle their banking needs during the holidays.
