Amazon Expands Ultra-Fast Delivery to 300 Cities Across India

Amazon Now is expanding and Amazon is coming to more than 300 cities in India. It’s one of the biggest rollouts in the country’s fast-growing quick-commerce market and a major competitor of Amazon in this space in the race to deliver products in minutes.

The expansion was announced during CEO Andy Jassy’s trip to India in June 2026. Amazon will grow its micro-fulfillment centers and urban hubs to store products closer to customers for faster dispatch. And it will invest almost ₹2,800 crore ($300 million) to strengthen infrastructure and logistics— an indication of a long-term commitment to India’s e-commerce sector.

Amazon Now will offer a variety of products for ultra-fast delivery, including groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, beverages, personal care items, fashion, lifestyle products and home essentials. Amazon wants to make it easy to get to millions of new customers from big metro cities to smaller towns as they are now expanding into smaller towns.

The quick-commerce industry in India is booming and competitors like Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart and Flipkart Minutes are aggressively expanding their reach. Amazon’s entry into 300 cities only adds to this competition. Prime members using Amazon Now are nearly triple the shopping frequency, and orders have been doubling every quarter since it launched. Jassy also pointed out that the lessons learned from India have already been transferred to Amazon’s global operations, including in the U.S.

The expansion means faster deliveries, wider product availability, and more convenience for consumers. It also helps the economy in logistics and delivery services to grow. Amazon has also launched ‘Sammaan’ (Delivery associates welfare program) that provides scholarships, financial inclusion through financial inclusion programs, insurance and road safety measures.

Amazon’s choice to scale Amazon Now to 300+ cities is indicative of the rapidly growing market that it is creating in India’s quick-commerce space. And with heavy investment in infrastructure, expanded product categories and welfare programs for associates, Amazon is positioning itself as the leader in ultra-fast delivery. That can change consumer expectations and also set new standards for speed in e-commerce in India.
