Kusumgar IPO Opens: Invest ₹14,665 for a Chance to Earn ₹5,810? Check GMP, Price Band, Risks and Key Details

Kusumgar Limited's Initial Public Offering (IPO) will be open for public subscription and has received a lot of interest from both retail and institutional investors. A good grey market premium (GMP) and a niche position in the technical textiles industry have made the IPO one of the most eagerly awaited mainboard offerings of the week.

At the upper price band, a retail investor can apply with a minimum investment of ₹14,665 for one lot with 35 equity shares. Based on the existing grey market premium, market observers estimate a listing gain of around ₹5,810 per lot. However, GMP is unofficial and should not be considered a guarantee of listing performance.

IPO Price Band and Lot Size

Kusumgar has fixed the IPO price band at ₹398–₹419 per equity share. The minimum bid size for retail investors is 35 shares, which is ₹14,665 at the upper end of the price band. The IPO was opened on July 8 and will close on July 10, 2026.

Recent Grey Market Premium (GMP)

Market activity in the lead-up to the IPO has been brisk. Kusumgar's shares are currently trading at a grey market premium of about ₹160-₹170 per share (about 40% of the issue price), which gives a listing premium of about 40% to its share price. Assuming a GMP of about ₹166, the estimated listing gain is roughly ₹5,810 on one retail lot (35 shares).

Investors should also appreciate that Grey Market Premium (GMP) is an unofficial indicator that is not regulated by SEBI, and can fluctuate dramatically before listing. It should not be the only basis for an investment decision.

Issue Structure

The IPO is a book-built issue worth ₹650 crore and consists entirely of an Offer for Sale (OFS). Because it is an OFS, the proceeds will go to the selling shareholders rather than the company, so Kusumgar will not get fresh capital from the issue.

About the Company

Kusumgar is one of the top manufacturers of engineered synthetic and technical textiles. Products are targeted at specialized industries like:

  1. Aerospace and Defence
  2. Industrial Applications
  3. Automotive
  4. Outdoor and Lifestyle Products

The company has developed a reputation for manufacturing very high-performance fabrics for very sensitive applications, which is why it is one of the few in the technical textiles industry in India.

Financial Snapshot

Kusumgar has shown superior profitability and strong operating margins compared to many listed peers, according to market analysis. But there are also investment risks that can lead to more concentration of customers and more exposure to export markets and to the effects of global demand and trade policy on earnings as well.

Important Dates

  1. IPO Opens: July 8, 2026.
  2. IPO Closes: July 10, 2026.
  3. Expected Allotment: July 13, 2026.
  4. Tentative Listing: July 15, 2026, on BSE and NSE.
  5. Should You Apply?

The niche business of Kusumgar has generated positive interest as a result of its strong market position in technical textiles and good grey market sentiment. In addition, investors need to look beyond the expected listing gain and should also look at the company's business model, valuation, and long-term growth prospects.

As a short-term listing opportunity is attractive as the GMP is in place now, short-term investors may also find it attractive, but long-term investors need to take into account the company’s business model, competitive advantage, and risks before investing.
