Shaadi.com founder and Shark Tank India judge Anupam Mittal has revived a debate on workplace transparency by proposing a new platform named “GHOSTDOOR.” This idea is an employer review platform for employees so that they can be evaluated for integrity, professionalism, workplace behaviour, and notice period behaviour.

Mittal had shared the idea on social media and he said that while employees now have platforms to evaluate the employers, there is no such system for employers to provide structured feedback to employees. His proposal got a lot of traction online and started conversations among entrepreneurs, HR professionals, employees, and corporate leaders.
Based on this, GHOSTDOOR would enable employers to provide feedback on whether employees were professional in their service and in terms of ethical behaviour, communication skills, commitment to work, and whether they served their notice period professionally before leaving the company.
The plan appears to be about dealing with employees who abruptly quit with no notice period, employees who do bad work, and what the professional accountability issues are. Supporters say such a platform would help employers to be more transparent about hiring processes and might help them make better hiring decisions.
But the idea has also come under severe criticism. For many, a public employer-review platform for employees could pose serious issues for privacy, fairness, bias, and misuse. And critics say dissatisfied employers could leave negative reviews that could unfairly impact an individual’s future career opportunities.
Human resource experts have also warned that any such platform would need strong safeguards: verified reviews, dispute resolution mechanisms, and clear legal protections against defamation or misuse. What is more, critics say, is that the system would be susceptible to biased or retaliatory feedback; without oversight and checks and balances, critics say.
The proposal has rekindled the debate about how employers and employees balance power in our workplace. Currently, there is no public platform where employers can perform an employee review on Glassdoor, but current and former employees can use it anonymously.
Mittal's supporters argue that accountability should be built into both sides of the employment relationship. They think that employer feedback from verified employers will enhance background checks and can help organizations identify strong professional ethics and workplace conduct.
Despite the growing online discussion, GHOSTDOOR is just a proposal and there is no firm launch or development timeline. How it is possible that such a platform would comply with labour laws, privacy regulations, and employment practices remains an open question.
In the process, the proposal of Anupam Mittal has once again raised a debate about workplace transparency, accountability, and the future of hiring in an increasingly digital employment ecosystem.
